Practical help and support groups

We are a cancer support group that supports those with cancer or have had a cancer diagnosis. We have meetings on the third Friday of every month at Trinity Methodist Church from 10am till 12noon. Our aim is to meet face to face for group discussions, provide therapy with a trained therapist, to give the latest information on developments in cancer research and to provide a listening ear to those who need it, when they need it. We do occasional fundraising for cancer charities and include activities that our members might enjoy. We also keep in regular contact with each group member to see how they are in between meeting times. We are a small friendly group who provide a warm welcome and a helping hand.

Breast cancer in women and Breast cancer DCIS

The group meet one Tuesday in the month from 6pm - 8pm at the Ark Conference Centre.We have guest speakers on alternate months except June/July/August. Visiting speakers have included Breast Cancer Surgeons, a Lead Cancer Nurse, Nutritionist and a Dietician, a Reflexologist and an Alternate Therapist plus a make-up demonstrations and many more. We hold one major event a year and to date these have been three fashion shows, a summer ball plus hog roasts and barn dances. On the months we do not have speakers we chat and offer help, friendship and support to one another.
